If Satan Is Real Then There Are Two Gods

I know we have been told there are hundreds of different Gods in the universe. And I know a lot of folks say it doesn’t matter which God you or I believe in, as long as you believe in something. We also find that Christendom, for the most part, calls itself a monotheistic religion. That means it boasts a belief in only One God. And if that is the case then I think that is fine. But does Christianity only have one God? Do Christians, for the most part, only believe in one God or is there another God they believe in? When the Creator claims to be the only God what does that mean? We are going to look at few verse of the Bible in a minute but let me explain.

If there is a true sovereign and might yCreator in the universe who says He is the only God, what should we think of any other entity that is a said to have supernatural abilities? As an example I would like you to consider that stuffed bear on the corner of your child’s bed. Does it breath, taste, or hear? Can it react to your thoughts and actions and can it respond to your requests and petitions? Now let’s say you start to have a pain in your chest one day, you can’t find any reason in the physical for the pain so you try to forget it but it persists. Then, on top of the pain you get in an accident with the car one Saturday afternoon, then someone gets a hold of your p.i.n. number and cleans out your bank account. You feel overwhelmed by your recent bad luck and you are troubled to find a reason for this string of unfortunate…perhaps even evil events.

Then, while doing chores you walk into your child’s bedroom and as you turn to catch the plastic button eye of the teddy bear on the corner of the bed in your gaze, the little stuffed toy tips over on its face. Something inside you quivers a little and you mentally make a connection to what has been happening to you lately. I know it might be illogical and ridiculous but part of you thinks of the string of hardships you are going through and considers it possible this little stuffed toy has something to do with the events?  You shake that off and tip the little toy back up, put away your child’s laundry, and move on.

Well the very next day you walk back into the child’s room and as you turn to look for dirty laundry to take out of the room the teddy bear tips over again. Hmmm…maybe there is something to this you think. Maybe this teddy bear does have more to do with your woes than you thought yesterday. All of a sudden your feelings toward that inanimate object shift. You start to think of it as having some weird power to affect your life. You begin to believe the teddy bear embodies some sort of supernatural power. All of a sudden, as a result of you thinking the teddy power is a supernatural power, you have made that teddy into a god.

Well, believers have done virtually the same thing with Satan. Although there was no little teddy bear to start the process there was an idea of something other than the God of the Bible affecting the physical realm. Even though Christendom doesn’t worship Satan in the traditional sense; by ascribing supernatural powers to an idea they have made that idea into a God. God says he is the only God and there is none like Him in all the Earth, Yahweh(God) says, “I make peace and I create evil. I Yahweh do all these things.” When we find another supernatural entity to ascribe supernatural powers to we have found another God. Either God is a liar and He is not the only God or we have constructed another god that really doesn’t exist.

To put it simply I will say, if you or I ascribe supernatural powers and abilities to anything other than the one God of the Universe then you and I believe there are two Gods. We then are responsible for having another God. When Yahweh said I am the Lord your God, you shall have no other Gods beside me, what was He saying? It can be found that He was saying, “Beside me there are no other Gods”…He wasn’t saying you and I are not supposed to worship other deities He was saying you and I are not supposed to believe there are any other deities...period!

Considering this idea as it relates to the Exodus that Moses is famous for we can take our thoughts to a couple thousand years ago. In sending the plagues on ancient Egypt Yahweh wanted the redeemed Israelites to know that no Egyptian God could defend itself because they didn’t exist. By looking at what the Bible calls a god and understanding that the God of the Bible says He is the only God, we can know for certain there are no other Gods…This includes the composite figure Christendom clings to called Satan. After all, Satan was simply a construct of man’s imagination and a composite figure of many of the Gods of the ancients. Satan is all the false God ideas of pagan nations rolled into one. If we believe he is real we believe in another God.

Below I quote some verses
from the bible that speak about God/Yahweh being the only God. In the following paragraph I ask you to take a look at a chart that compares the things the Creator God does with the things it is said the Cosmic Satan can do. Whether we like it or not, if Satan is real he is a God, the Creator is a liar, and you and I have two gods. Do you think there are two Gods? Well God doesn’t.

Exodus 9:14

14  For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.

Deuteronomy 4:28-35

28  And there you shall serve other gods, the work of man's hands, wood and stone, which cannot see, nor hear nor eat, nor smell….

33  Has a people heard the voice of God speaking from the midst of the fire, as you have heard, and lived? 34  Or has God gone forth to take to Himself a nation from the midst of a nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that Jehovah your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? 35  To you it was revealed, so that you might know that Jehovah is God, and no one else besides Him.

Deuteronomy 4:36-39

36  He made you hear His voice out of the heavens, …

39  know today, and turn back your heart to it, that Jehovah, He is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.

1 Kings 8:60

60 That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.

Isaiah 46:9

9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like  me.

Take  look at the chart below. It seems pretty simple that if there are two or more supernatural entitites who can do relatively the same supernatural acts, then there are two Gods. The one who claims to be the only God is either deluded or in denial...either that is the case or possible we have invented Satan and he does not exist.
